ViDA, Vilassar de Dalt Aigües, is the local public business entity (EPEL) responsible for the direct management of water in Vilassar de Dalt.

On March 17, 2022, the Municipal Council of Vilassar de Dalt initially approved the Agreement for the change in the management model of water supply and sewerage services, determining that the best model for Vilassar was direct management through a personified form via a Local Public Business Entity (EPEL). 

Likewise, in the plenary session held on March 17, 2022, the establishment of the entity “Vilassar de Dalt Aigües EPEL - ViDA” and its statutes were initially approved. This approval became final upon resolving the objections during the plenary session on May 17, 2022..

The corporate purpose of Vilassar de Dalt Aigües EPEL, ViDA, according to Article 5 of the current statutes, consists of the direct management of the public services of the Vilassar de Dalt City Council related to the storage and distribution, collection, treatment, and supply of drinking water; the collection, sewerage, treatment, and discharge of wastewater and rainwater; or, where applicable, their reuse after treatment. ViDA began providing water supply and sewerage services on January 1, 2023. 

A Local Public Business Entity (EPEL) is a public law entity with its own legal personality, full legal capacity, its own assets, and management autonomy to fulfill its purpose and objectives. It is governed by private law, except in matters related to the decision-making processes of its governing bodies, the execution of administrative powers granted to it, and aspects specifically regulated under administrative law for such entities. 

ViDA is dependent on the Vilassar de Dalt City Council and is attached to the Department of Services, which is responsible for the powers and exercise of the municipal competence for the potable water supply and sewerage service. This department oversees the strategic direction, evaluation of activity results, and efficiency control of the entity.
